International Children's day

International Children's day



International Children's day is celebrated on June 1st each year. In India Former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's birth day i.e November 14, is celebrated as Children's day as Nehru was fond of children. Other countries celebrate a local children's day on other dates. This day is celebrated to honor children and minors.

Children's Day was first observed worldwide in October 1955, under the sponsorship of International Union for Child welfare in Geneva.

Earth Day

Earth Day



Earth Day is observed on March 20, that is on March equinox. This is the Date of Earth Day as observed by the United Nations Organization (UNO). This tradition was found by the peace activist John McConnell in the year 1969.

In the United Sates Earth Day is Celebrated on April 22 each year. This day is observed to inspire awareness and appreciation of the Earth's environment. It is celebrated in many countries besids United States of America.

Many countries extend the schedule of Earch Day observance events to be an entire week, usually starting on April 16, and ending on Earth Day, April 22. These events are designed to encourage environmentally aware behaviors, including increased recycling, improved energy-efficency, and reduction in disposable items.
